Many of us have had nightmares in which we return to our earlier, worse employment. It’s not exactly entertaining to witness those shady characters resurfacing from the past to disrupt our present reality. The nightmare of Reddit user u/Bumwungle came true when the former college-era fast-food job contacted and requested them to come in for a New Year’s Eve shift more than 10 years after they had departed. They detailed their experience in a post to the famous subreddit r/r/IDontWorkHereLady.
It’s amazing that this is even a possibility, no? When the former worker pointed out that they no longer work there, we’re certain the person on the phone was equally perplexed. In fact, several other Redditors reported similar experiences in the comments, so it turns out that this isn’t even a rare occurrence. rekindles your desire to give up. Here’s an example of a worker, that left their position and had their supervisor asking them to return despite losing significant sums of money for some real quitting catharsis.

People can be so stupid and weird that they would call someone who used to work for them after 10 years and say would you cover up your shift? What the heck is this? How would someone be available to you since they have left 10 years ago? It’s quite strange we were wondering if those people were high or what? But there can’t be so much coincidences
