With every step we take in life, there come responsibilities with each one of those steps. And you have to honor them because there is no escaping. If you run away from your responsibilities, they will always run after you and bite you tight in the a$$, you can mark my words on that. For example, an age comes when your parents expect you to take care of yourself. They can’t always hold your hand and carry you through every single phase of your life.
In today’s story, Reddit user u/pussyandbananabread shared that her twins made it a habit that they would wake her up early in the morning demanding breakfast. They would want her to cook their breakfast. At times OP would do what they want but when she would be unwell, she would simply tell her kids to do something for themselves.
OP just doesn’t feel it is right that her kids, who are 11, still making such demands. Her husband fully supported her as he too felt that the kids should take up some responsibility.

As soon as I read the kids were 11, I straightaway went “Are you kidding me?”. At 11, you are supposed to be able to do all of your own chores, cook for yourself, and god knows what. You get a sense of responsibility at that age. Now either these kids are too childish and love running away from responsibilities, or their parents have made them too lazy and clumsy.

6. When discussed, OP’s children revealed their aunt would always cook a buffet breakfast whenever she would come around, and that would make them want the same once she would leave.
7. Once she explained everything thoroughly to them, the twins understood their mistake and even apologized to OP.
