Mother Wants To Move Away From Daughter To Live Her Best Life

Mom moving away from daughter

Reddit user u/bonafideretiredgal shared that her daughter lived with her husband in a different city. When she announced her pregnancy, OP and her husband, both retired, decided to buy a house in the same city their daughter lived in and the daughter and her husband were okay with this decision. OP shared she wanted to move near her daughter to help her adjust to mother and to take care care of her child after birth because her daughter said she might not be able to get daycare for the child until it turned 18 months old.

However, everything went smoothly for OP’s daughter who returned back to work, healthy, after her maternity leave and also found full-time daycare for her child. OP then felt there wasn’t much she and her husband could do for their daughter so she expressed her need to move to the city to live a better life after working extremely hard for 44 years and taking care of her family.

OP’s husband agreed with the move but because the mother kept thinking this would make her daughter feel she had been rejected, she posted the story on the subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?” to know if the decision would make her an AH or not.

This is absolutely the move to go forward, ma’am. Working for 44 years is no joke. If you feel the need to live a better life and can afford to do so, then there is no power that can stop you. Go ahead and make the move. Live your favorite life after working so hard all your life. I feel so happy that this mother has actually expressed herself out loud because most of the parents k*ll their desires and wishes to make sure their kids don’t feel like they are being rejected.

I am with this mom. Make it happen! Let’s see what happens next. Scroll down below to continue reading!

13. OP’s husband fully supports this and wants to make this happen.

14. However OP still felt she was being an AH for making her daughter feel rejected. Again, this is OP thinking this way, we don’t know what the daughter actually thinks about this.
