Now here’s what really happened. The whole idea of a lizard’s gender revealing was a joke and it sort of moved in a way that her mother failed to understand. The daughter just wanted to host a themed party and have a little bit of fun. The mother-in-law really had no regard for comedy and hilarity and totally resented the joyful opportunity.

Check out this story of how this mother-in-law fully rejected a funny, light-hearted gift from her daughter-in-law and her own son. Scroll down below to see what happened.

1. This mother felt weird how her daughter used to call her lizard her own child. Something with is completely normal as we all do it without pet animals.

I wouldn’t call my pet puppy a dog or a pet animal, I would call it my son or my daughter. Our pets fully earn that status.

2. Totally fair, the way she joked about the gender reveal party but in reality she just wanted to meet her friends who she hadn’t met in a very long time.

I have a very special spot for getting together like the one this person is arranging. I hope the mother gets the joke out of it and makes real sense.

Even if it was a lizard’s gender reveal party, which it wasn’t. The mom still should’ve come to support her daughter in hosting a party. Such a stupid decision by the Mom.

4. Well, it sort of built up into a roadblock with both parties backing their logic. But to be fair, the mother seems to be making a fuss out of something that isn’t supposed to be made a fuss out of.

Okay, now that you guys have gone through this story. We want to give our opinion first and then move towards the voice of the Reddit community We believe the mother was an absolute asshole for not attending her daughter’s party. First of all, the party was meant for a nice gathering where everyone would just chat a little, catch up crack some jokes, and have some nice food. The joke, I believe, was not too hard to get, by the way. It was something very light-hearted that the mother should’ve gotten. And even if it was a party circulated around a lizard’s gender reveal, given the fact that this woman had no children, the lizard would’ve naturally meant so much to her. And her mother basically didn’t value that at all, so yeah the mother was the a$$hole for doing this.

Here are some of the responses the Redditors gave on the matter. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t get better for the mother.

The community collectively agreed on the fact that the mother was indeed an asshole for being too insensitive in relevance to her own daughter.
