Favoritism between children can be extremely toxic for the child who is basically on the inferior list. It can seriously damage the mental health of that child. Even more daunting, it can ruin the relationship between that child and his/her parents. The strain can take the relationship to a point of no recovery.
In today’s story, that is exactly what happened. Reddit user u/Just-a-Big-Brother shared that his younger brother had always been favored above him by his parents. You name it, and they will always prioritize the younger brother over the older one. One time OP decided he had had enough, and decided to confront his parents about the favoritism. What he didn’t let his parents know was that he secretly had the whole conversation video taped. Enraged after the whole debate, OP uploaded the video on the internet. The parents got really angry. The news got to OP’s grandparents who confronted his parents for being terrible and also offered OP to stay with them.

1. If it is favoritism towards one child, then it must be exposed.
2. OP’s parents cared way more about his younger brother as compared to him.
3. It seems pretty clear who the favorite child is in this family.
4. Even with regard to tuition fees, OP has to work hard for it and his younger brother is going to study without having to struggle one bit.
5. One time OP decided to turn on recording on his phone and questioned his parents about the whole tuition fees situation.
6. And everything unfolded right there and then as OP confronted them about favoritism.
7. In rage OP decided to upload the video on his social media accounts.
8. The parents came rushing to OP’s door after realizing what had happened, screaming at him for sharing the video online.
Of course, they were going to come screaming at OP after realizing what he had just done. If the parents were in the clear and were confident that they weren’t doing anything wrong, and they weren’t favoring one child over the other, then this wouldn’t have been the reaction expected from them. But they reacted like this. And that is because they knew exactly how wrong they were, how terribly they were discriminating between their two children.

9. OP’s grandparents got the news and decided to get involved as they invited many other family members to one place including OP’s parents…and a major confrontation took place.
10. It was also revealed that OP’s grandparents had been helping his parents by sending money every month to cater for family expenses.
11. OP’s grandparents offered him to stay with them and also announced they would cut off the monthly payments to his parents.
12. The fact that OP’s parents stopped talking to him after this whole scenario made OP question if what he did was right or not…so the matter got taken to the courts of the AITA community.
