Employee Refuses To Help Her Former Boss Who Fired Her

People in high positions can be quite ignorant.

It’s important to acknowledge that having any amount of power has the capacity to corrupt people. While not all managers fall into this category, we’ve all likely experienced higher-ups who treat those under them poorly. This is often because power reveals the truth beneath one’s facade. It’s not surprising to see managers who appear friendly on the surface refuse to help employees in need.

Unfortunately, this story is one such example. The employee in question had previously worked with a team that wasn’t very harmonious, with one member even making derogatory comments towards female employees. Despite being aware of this, the boss did nothing to stop it. Instead, when things escalated, she went after the person who shared this story. Why? Apparently, the employee wasn’t getting along well with the team, and so was kicked out. But the story didn’t end there.

It is in the title, it is her former boss, not the current one.

However, we first need to understand the nature of the work.

And what she thought of her boss and OP seems to think that she is a good person.

So when she was terminated, it came out of left field for her.

But the story didn’t end there and the former boss approached her once again.

Since then she has tried to get OP back into the fold.

But OP clearly put an end to it and refused the offer.

As I read through the situation, I cannot help but express my dismay at the actions of the manager. It seems that despite their past behaviour towards the employee, they have the audacity to once again request assistance. If I were in the manager’s shoes, I would feel quite embarrassed when approaching someone who I previously mistreated. In my opinion, the manager’s actions are unacceptable, and the employee should firmly decline this request.

The manager’s past behaviour indicates that they cannot be trusted, and there is a possibility that they might put the employee in an uncomfortable situation once again. It is only fair that the employee is allowed to work in a safe and respectful environment, free from any form of mistreatment or ab*se.

People in the comments were 100% on her side as well.

They acknowledged that she did the right thing by refusing.

After all, OP might have gotten into more problems if she had accepted.

It is always important to make sure you leave a paper trail.

I would agree with this person. Why bring back a bad employee?

OP should probably let someone know what is happening.

I am not sure if she really is such a good person.
